This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Supervise daily remote tax preparation activities
• Prepare and/or review individual federal and state income tax returns
• Assist tax preparers with workflow and operational inquiries
• Ensure accuracy, documentation, and completion of tax returns
• Safeguard secure and confidential taxpayer information
• Adhere to relevant IRS due diligence and electronic filing regulations
• Communicate professionally with both clients and tax preparers
• Keep organized records for clients and tax preparation
• Aid in the development and maintenance of client relationships
• Engage in necessary operational and compliance training
• Ensure compliance with filing deadlines and internal procedures
• Build, manage, and expand a tax business along with a personal tax client portfolio
• Formulate strategies to attract new clients and enhance tax return volume
• Promote the tax business through marketing, networking, and community involvement
• Recruit, develop, lead, and support a team of tax preparers
• Oversee daily operations of the tax business, client workflow, and tax season processes
• Ensure proper collection and maintenance of client documentation
• Monitor submitted returns and funded return activities
• Comply with IRS guidelines, due diligence standards, and professional ethics
• Advocate for accurate and ethical tax preparation practices
• Provide exceptional customer service and foster lasting client relationships
• Educate clients throughout the tax preparation journey
• Take responsibility for business objectives, growth, and results
• Utilize provided tools, training, and resources for optimal success
• Continue personal development as a tax professional, leader, and business owner
• An active EFIN or the capability to apply for and receive IRS authorization
• A valid PTIN when preparing federal tax returns for compensation
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Capacity to work autonomously in a remote setting
• Reliable access to a computer and the internet
• Ability to safeguard confidential taxpayer information
• Strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor
• Experience in tax preparation, tax office operations, or team leadership is preferred
• Applicants must secure necessary IRS approval prior to undertaking activities requiring an EFIN
• Independent contractor engagement with accountability for fulfilling client service expectations, meeting filing deadlines, compliance obligations, and operational duties
