Tax Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee bookkeeping for several client accounts

• Conduct monthly reconciliations and closing procedures

• Prepare and evaluate financial statements

• Maintain precise general ledger documentation

• Guarantee high-quality deliverables for clients

• Prepare and assess both business and individual tax returns

• Assist in tax planning and compliance efforts

• Investigate accounting and tax-related issues

• Provide support to clients during the tax season

• Mentor and guide junior accounting personnel

• Review work for accuracy and thoroughness

• Enhance workflows, documentation, and quality assurance

• Contribute to the growth and scaling of the accounting team

• Act as the primary point of escalation for accounting inquiries

• Engage professionally with clients

• Proactively resolve accounting challenges

• Manage deadlines across various engagements

• Deliver consistent and accurate work with minimal oversight

• Independently manage a portfolio of client accounts within the initial 6–12 months

• Start overseeing and developing junior accounting team members

• Assist in enhancing internal procedures as the firm expands

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in public accounting or client accounting

• Proficient with Drake Tax is required

• Familiarity with TaxDome is required

• Competence in QuickBooks Online is required

• Strong foundation in bookkeeping and accounting principles

• Experience in preparing business and/or individual tax returns

• Capability to manage multiple clients at the same time

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Excellent command of written and spoken English

• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

• CPA or CPA candidate is preferred

• Background working in a U.S. CPA firm

• Experience in managing remote teams

• Reliable, dependable, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership

• Composed under deadlines and detail-oriented while maintaining efficiency

• Desire to grow into a long-term leadership role
