This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
β’ Oversee and ensure the effective administration and management of Human Resources at designated hotels within the portfolio transitioning to HEI management.
β’ Provide support and advice to General Managers, management personnel, and associates.
β’ Assist with recruitment, training and development, payroll, and employee relations activities.
β’ Lead recruiting and interviewing strategies and conduct interviews for management roles.
β’ Ensure the completion of reference checks, background screenings, and employment eligibility verifications.
β’ Guarantee adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
β’ Implement and communicate new Human Resources mandates.
β’ Oversee compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan.
β’ Direct employee recognition programs, service award ceremonies, social events, and hotel meetings.
β’ Monitor performance appraisal systems and validate measurable, achievable objectives.
β’ Administer wages and benefits fairly and accurately.
β’ Coordinate transition processes, including interviews, offer letters, events, materials, benefits presentations, and HR training schedules.
β’ Supervise onboarding and payroll training at newly acquired properties.
β’ Manage labor relations, administer union contracts, handle grievances, negotiate settlements, and represent hotels at arbitration when necessary.
β’ Fill in for vacancies or absences, onboard new HR professionals, and assist with hotel transitions.
β’ Perform additional related tasks as required.
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in a relevant field or HR certification is advantageous.
β’ Prior hotel experience as a Human Resources Manager or Director is essential.
β’ Experience in payroll processing is required.
β’ In-depth knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures.
β’ Extensive understanding of State and Federal laws and regulations related to Human Resources issues.
β’ Leadership abilities to inspire and develop staff while ensuring goal achievement.
β’ Capacity to prioritize, plan, organize, and delegate tasks effectively.
β’ Basic mathematical skills for salary and benefit management and departmental expense forecasting.
β’ Ability to prepare correspondence and meet deadlines efficiently.
β’ Proficient in drafting office memoranda and correspondence, providing clear instructions, guidance, and counseling.
β’ Capability to observe employees, analyze operations, and identify concerns regarding performance, grooming, training, policy adherence, and morale.
β’ Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
β’ Capability to stand, walk, and sit while continuously performing essential functions during an eight-plus-hour shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Adaptability in communication style to suit different audiences.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
