This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Serve as the design authority for an engineering discipline characterized by low to medium complexity.
• Execute assignments on minor projects or segments of larger initiatives in a cost-effective manner.
• Implement fundamental design thinking and design for excellence principles in projects.
• Gather data from ABB and competing systems to establish baseline performance and develop future performance guarantees.
• Provide expertise in process control during QCS order pursuits.
• Act as a technical liaison between ABB sales teams and customer process control and engineering teams.
• Create a Systems Engineering Plan for projects when designated as the lead.
• Oversee the Systems Engineering team for site coverage when in a leadership role.
• Prepare system software for internal integration testing purposes.
• Assist with system integration testing during the internal One-hundred Percent Test.
• Support Customer Factory Acceptance Testing when applicable.
• Develop both general and project-specific operator training materials.
• Create an operator training schedule as part of the Systems Engineering Plan.
• Conduct classroom and hands-on operator training sessions.
• Ensure that all control features are finely tuned and optimized.
• Collect data and evaluate results against established performance objectives.
• Provide technical leadership during the project start-up, optimization, and results phases.
• Guarantee the proper implementation and functionality of customer-requested special features.
• Address any outstanding system issues following commissioning.
• Offer ongoing customer support after the commissioning phase.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a degree in Engineering or Paper Science is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
• Industrial experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities are necessary.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
• Geographic location is flexible.
