This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Convert plant-level operational and nuclear safety requirements into designated system and subsystem specifications.
• Break down and distribute requirements across mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, FPGA, instrumentation, and control implementations.
• Create, maintain, and evaluate system descriptions, design specifications, interface requirements, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), cabinet drawings, elementary drawings, and connection/route drawings.
• Assess proposed modifications to mechanical, electrical, process, instrumentation, control, protection, and safety systems.
• Assist in the development and evaluation of engineering change packages and modifications to plant design.
• Conduct reviews for requirements quality, completeness, consistency, and traceability.
• Engage in technical and design reviews, Technical Specification markups, and licensing-related evaluations.
• Analyze potential nuclear safety, design-basis, and licensing implications related to design changes.
• Aid in resolving technical challenges, test anomalies, nonconformances, and design inconsistencies.
• Execute or assist with functional analysis, requirements analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA), single-failure assessments, and design-basis evaluations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure proper understanding and implementation of system interfaces and requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Over 5 years of experience in nuclear power design engineering or closely related nuclear engineering roles.
• Background in supporting GE-designed Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) systems, instrumentation and controls, plant operations, or design engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of BWR plant architecture, system interactions, and plant-level requirements.
• Experience in translating nuclear safety and plant-level requirements into engineering specifications for systems and subsystems.
• Familiarity with requirements decomposition, allocation, verification, and engineering documentation practices.
• Understanding of nuclear design-basis and licensing-basis requirements.
• Knowledge of safety classifications, including safety-related and important-to-safety equipment.
• Experience in evaluating engineering changes and their consequences on nuclear plant systems.
• Strong skills in technical writing, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Candidates should have experience in one or more areas such as reactor protection and instrumentation and controls, BWR design basis and safety engineering, or engineering analysis.
