This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide systems engineering and modeling and simulation support for the digital transformation, digital engineering, and mission analysis initiatives of the Coast Guard.
• Convert operational requirements and concepts of operations into traceable SysML, UAF, and UAFML model artifacts.
• Create and sustain enterprise and system architecture models using Cameo Enterprise Architecture / Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Conduct model queries, validation checks, and trade studies.
• Develop and perform mission-level modeling and simulation analyses utilizing AFSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, and Ansys STK.
• Integrate architecture models, engineering analyses, and mission simulations into a cohesive analytical framework.
• Design simulation scenarios, establish MOEs and MOPs, execute simulation runs and trade studies, and evaluate results.
• Produce CONOPS, requirements documentation, interface definitions, analysis plans, simulation study reports, and technical assessments.
• Validate, verify, and document models and simulations.
• Assist in automation pilot evaluations, feasibility studies, simulation-based experimentation, and wargaming.
• Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, data, and application development teams.
• Engage in governance boards, technical reviews, stakeholder meetings, and status briefings.
• Present findings derived from models and simulations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Facilitate enterprise architecture alignment, technical roadmaps, ecosystem strategies, and implementation plans.
• Monitor project risks, dependencies, technical challenges, and integration effects.
• Contribute to standards development and operational readiness planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Physics, or a related field, along with 8–10 years of relevant experience; or 6–10 years with a Master’s degree; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience in MBSE using Cameo Enterprise Architecture / Cameo Systems Modeler, including SysML, UAF, and UAFML.
• Proficient in modeling and simulation with AFSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, and Ansys STK, covering scenario development, simulation execution, and results analysis.
• Familiarity with digital mission engineering concepts and methodologies.
• OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Model Builder certification.
• Experience in supporting complex federal IT, systems engineering, or modernization projects.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and requirements management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
