Systems Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct system analysis and design to implement diverse systems while ensuring enterprise performance and uptime.

• Uphold high-security standards and data protection methodologies in a heavily regulated environment.

• Oversee, maintain, and repair IT systems including server hardware, Windows Servers, VMware, Citrix, cloud services, SAN/NAS storage, MS SQL Server, DB/2, and Microsoft 365.

• Lead and execute the design of system architecture.

• Manage and enhance large-scale systems and networks.

• Provide technical direction on various projects.

• Perform thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot upgrades and enhancements to enterprise solutions.

• Address and resolve moderate to complex technical challenges.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve systems.

• Ensure compliance with minimum security baseline requirements for IT systems.

• Keep the server room and work area clean and organized.

• Respond to outages affecting networks, servers, and applications.

• Notify management about outages and assist in resolving issues swiftly.

• Contribute to the formulation of IT strategy and planning.

• Lead projects and carry out other assigned responsibilities.

• Utilize approved AI-assisted tools for coding/scripting, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documentation, technical research, and related tasks.

• Assess and validate AI-generated outputs for security, privacy, quality, accuracy, and ethical use.

• Facilitate the adoption and expansion of AI technologies by evaluating tools, applications, and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems engineering.

• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is acceptable.

• Relevant certifications such as CCNP or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are advantageous.

• Extensive understanding of server hardware platforms, including high-density and stand-alone configurations.

• Strong proficiency in Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

• Advanced knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Familiarity with Citrix Xen, Microsoft Hyper-V, and cloud services/SaaS solutions.

• In-depth comprehension of LAN, WAN, and storage network technologies.

• Extensive knowledge of local, SAN, and NAS storage technologies.

• Proficient in AWS, GCP, and Azure, including cloud/on-premises integration.

• Expertise in DevOps practices, automated testing, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.

• High-level proficiency in Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Jenkins, and Git.

• Advanced administrative expertise in MS SQL Server, DB/2, and other databases.

• Knowledgeable in clustering, high availability, backups, and log management.

• Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft 365 administration, security, clustering, high availability, and anti-spam solutions.

• Proven leadership and project management capabilities.

• Expertise in strategic planning and budget management.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

• Occasional travel for business purposes may be necessary.
