Systems Engineer – Digital Signal Processing, Space Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist in systems engineering tasks for space-oriented systems that utilize digital signal processing algorithms both in hardware and software.

• Create and evaluate DSP algorithms for the statistical analysis of signal parameter measurements.

• Utilize Detection & Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory for signal processing applications.

• Employ MATLAB and associated DSP toolboxes to develop, model, analyze, and assess signal processing solutions.

• Provide support for radar processing and DSP methods aimed at mitigating and processing RF effects.

• Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis, which includes Monte Carlo techniques and phased array/beamforming applications.

• Assist in the development of hardware prototypes, FlatSat environments, hardware integration, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems, as well as integration and testing.

• Contribute to the design, development, integration, and testing (I&T) of space payloads.

• Implement systems engineering principles, manage requirements, and perform system modeling throughout the development lifecycle.

• Support Digital Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives where applicable.

• Recognize opportunities to leverage AI technologies to enhance engineering processes for ongoing improvement and innovation.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory as per Federal Law.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics (STEM).

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or a Master’s degree coupled with at least 3 years of related experience.

• Familiarity with systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards.

• Understanding of requirements management and system modeling tools.

• Experience in supporting engineering activities related to hardware and/or software systems.
