This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Assist the Transportation Security Administration's Checkpoint Property Screening Systems team within Acquisition Program Management.
• Deliver expert engineering and analytical support for security equipment related to baggage screening systems.
• Aid in the creation of requirements artifacts such as CONOPS, ORD, FRD, SER, and RA.
• Convert user requirements, mission necessities, and identified gaps into functional and system-level requirements.
• Formulate operational requirements and draft functional and technical requirements documents.
• Create work breakdown structures utilizing MS Project.
• Conduct statistical evaluations using R, JMP, or Excel.
• Review test reports and perform data analysis.
• Summarize findings and carry out risk assessments and configuration management decisions based on the outcomes.
• Provide support for systems engineering, systems development, test and evaluation, and requirements development efforts.
• Travel will be less than 10% as required by project needs.
• A bachelor's degree is required in mechanical, electrical, systems/software/computer engineering, or a related field.
• An engineering degree is mandatory.
• A minimum of five years of experience in systems engineering and requirements development is necessary.
• Familiarity and experience with DHS Acquisition Directive 102 or DoD 5000 is preferred.
• Understanding of systems engineering and systems development methodologies, including the Acquisition Life Cycle Framework.
• Experience with DHS or DoD acquisitions and the formulation of operational requirements.
• Proven experience in writing CONOPS, ORD, and FRD documentation.
• At least three years of experience with Test and Evaluation (T&E) of Federal acquisition systems (DHS or DoD).
• Proficient in using R, JMP, or Excel for statistical evaluations.
• Experience in reviewing test reports, data analysis, summarizing findings, conducting risk assessments, and making configuration management decisions.
• Knowledge of project management principles, including work breakdown structures using MS Project.
• Familiarity with transportation security equipment, especially baggage handling and screening devices, is preferred.
• Experience with Cameo, MagicDraw, and/or Jira is advantageous.
• Must successfully pass DHS suitability screening or meet DHS financial responsibility standards.
• Must have or be eligible to obtain a DHS Secret security clearance.
• Existing Secret Clearance is a plus.
• Travel may be required at less than 10%.
