Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design and execute real-time automation controls and information solutions.

• Generate innovative solutions during the project design stage.

• Program, troubleshoot, and validate systems.

• Develop project engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documents, case studies, and other necessary documentation.

• Commission new solutions at client locations.

• Recognize opportunities for enhancement.

• Create methodologies to address and resolve complex issues.

• Acquire knowledge of new technologies.

• Guide colleagues in areas of expertise.

• Collaborate on machine and process control, information solutions, database development, operational efficiency, and mechatronics.

• Create solutions for PLC/PAC programming, HMI applications, SCADA, networking, databases, and vision systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Successful or anticipated completion of a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology degree.

• Academic or practical experience with some or all of the specified technologies.

• Detail-oriented, conscientious, analytical, focused, self-motivated, and a quick learner.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

• A valid Driver’s License.

• Full-time access to a personal vehicle.

• Must reside in Central Virginia or Maryland.

• Willingness to travel 30–50% across VA, MD, PA, NJ, and DE.

• The employee will be affiliated with and report to Grantek’s Richmond, VA office.
