Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the Financial Management Business Transformation (FMBT) Interface and Data Conversion Team in supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs.

• Collaborate with analysts and users to establish and enhance data conversion specifications.

• Automate scripts and DevOps processes utilizing job schedulers, Windows executables, Jenkins, Python pipelines, and other related tools.

• Perform Oracle/SQL scripting tasks.

• Conduct ETL and database conversion operations.

• Create scripts using Windows Command, PowerShell, AIX/Linux/Unix, and Perl.

• Execute system integrations within an Enterprise Service Bus framework.

• Oversee web-service and file-based communications with legacy systems.

• Create web services using SOAP, XML, WSDL, WS-Security, and/or JSON.

• Design and deploy services in Red Hat OpenShift or alternative container platforms.

• Develop interfaces and manage extensive data conversion processes.

• Carry out data reconciliation or migration across various data platforms, formats, and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with 6 years of pertinent experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• Capability to obtain and sustain a Public Trust Clearance.

• US citizenship is mandatory.

• Proficiency with script automation/DevOps tools, including job schedulers, Windows executables, Jenkins, and Python pipelines.

• Advanced skills in Oracle/SQL scripting.

• Experience in ETL or database conversion processes.

• Familiarity with Windows Command, PowerShell, AIX/Linux/Unix, or Perl scripting.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including extended hours, nights, and weekends as required.

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and both written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities while adhering to deadlines.

• Knowledge of financial/acquisitions systems implementations.

• Experience with Agile methodologies.

• Familiarity with Momentum Financials and the Momentum database.

• Experience using Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and Red Hat Fuse.

• Senior-level expertise in implementing system integrations within an Enterprise Service Bus.

• Skill in web services development utilizing SOAP, XML, WSDL, WS-Security, and/or JSON.

• Experience in deploying services on Red Hat OpenShift or similar container platforms.

• Development experience with Java, Python, or another contemporary programming language.

• Proficiency in interfaces and/or large-scale data conversions.

• Understanding of data reconciliation or migration across various data platforms, formats, and technologies.

• Experience with Microsoft or Azure Data services.

• Familiarity with data analytics or data cleansing tools and services.

• Experience in SharePoint development.
