System Safety Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Verify the compliance of vehicle variants in customer order projects with relevant product safety regulations, norms, and standards.

• Prepare documentation and evidence that demonstrate adherence to product safety obligations.

• Analyze and evaluate safety-related requirements and activities starting from the proposal phase.

• Identify applicable laws, standards, regulations, and guidelines.

• Provide guidance to projects and establish safety objectives.

• Develop safety case and safety evidence documentation for projects.

• Coordinate safety-related verification and validation (V&V) activities.

• Conduct safety-related system reviews, audits, and assessments both internally and externally.

• Monitor the implementation and compliance of safety-related requirements.

• Enhance internal safety-related processes, templates, and checklists.

• Conduct the final assessment of compliance with product safety obligations and report to the product safety officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in engineering (TU/FH) or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.

• Significant professional experience in System Safety, preferably within the automotive industry.

• Strong knowledge of safety standards, such as IEC 61508 and ISO 26262.

• Methodological expertise in hazard and risk analyses, FMEA, and FTA.

• A solid understanding of requirements management.

• Experience with IBM DOORS and APIS Pro.

• Good understanding of product development processes.

• Systematic knowledge of project planning and project management.
