This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.
• Collaborate directly with clients to grasp intricate business challenges and convert them into scalable, production-ready agentic AI solutions.
• Design and execute multi-step agent systems featuring orchestration, tool and function calls, task decomposition, and, when necessary, multi-agent coordination.
• Integrate agents with enterprise systems using APIs, MCP servers, and structured tool contracts.
• Create evaluation frameworks, guardrails, grounding and citation checks, along with human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Equip agent systems for traceability and observability, which includes tracking actions, model behavior, token and cost usage, latency, and performance.
• Design and sustain state and memory throughout long-running workflows.
• Implement model routing, retries, idempotency, and other reliability patterns.
• Develop and deploy AI solutions utilizing Azure and AWS cloud platforms and services.
• Employ software engineering practices with Python, Java, APIs, containers, source control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with client engineering and security teams for architecture reviews, threat modeling, security evaluations, audits, and enterprise delivery requirements.
• Assess the appropriateness of agentic architectures compared to deterministic pipelines, traditional machine learning, or other methodologies.
• Transform successful client engagement strategies into reusable Zeal patterns and solutions.
• Foster trust with clients and internal teams through effective communication, technical judgment, problem-solving, and execution.
• Engage in a multi-stage hiring process that may encompass phone and video interviews along with a take-home exercise.
• Position available in the primary LATAM hub located in Peru.
• Solid foundation in software engineering.
• Practical experience in designing and delivering production-level agentic AI systems.
• Strong interest in consulting.
• Familiarity with tool and function calling, multi-step workflows, orchestration, task decomposition, or multi-agent architectures.
• Experience in evaluating agent behavior and assessing system failures.
• Proven experience in developing evaluation harnesses, guardrails, grounding checks, human-in-the-loop controls, and error mitigation strategies.
• Extensive hands-on experience with either Azure or AWS and their associated AI and infrastructure services.
• High proficiency in Python or Java.
• Competence in API design, containers, automated testing, source control, and CI/CD.
• Sufficient knowledge of machine learning to discern when traditional ML or deterministic methods are preferable to an LLM.
• Experience in delivering software within large organizations.
• Familiarity with role-based access, data isolation, security evaluations, compliance, change control, and production governance.
• Knowledge of agent traceability, state and memory management, model routing, latency and cost visibility, retries, and idempotency.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to articulate complex AI systems, architectural choices, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong technical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with MCP, RAGAS, fine-tuning, model distillation or optimization, and highly regulated industries is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Application must include a brief personal note, a summary of work experience, and links to actively maintained public profiles.
• A values-driven work environment rooted in kindness, generosity, and integrity.
• Diverse and growth-oriented opportunities by consulting for Fortune 1000 companies across various industries and technical stacks.
