This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Oversee intricate features that span various workstreams and guide technical direction.
• Transform ambiguous product opportunities into clear technical directives.
• Draft comprehensive agent specifications that include constraints, acceptance criteria, risks, and trade-offs.
• Determine the appropriate moments to delegate tasks to agents and when human judgment is essential.
• Manage multiple agents through simultaneous implementation workstreams.
• Establish verification standards through testing, observability, and production-readiness assessments.
• Take ownership of the entire feature lifecycle, from specification to production monitoring.
• Develop prompts, agent instructions, repository conventions, test harnesses, and playbooks.
• Influence product decisions throughout the product landscape.
• Collaborate on specifications and technical direction with product, design, and support teams.
• Provide mentorship to engineers on agentic software development methodologies.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with proven expertise in building and deploying customer-facing software and managing production monitoring.
• A history of utilizing AI coding agents to implement features across multiple parallel workstreams.
• Strong proficiency in system design, data modeling, and architecture, including performance and data-flow trade-offs.
• Capability to write agent specifications and technical documentation that is accessible to both humans and agents.
• Expertise in context engineering.
• Ability to design agent workflows that facilitate parallel execution with human checkpoints.
• Competence in reading unfamiliar code and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Skill in performing threat modeling and identifying vulnerabilities related to injection, data handling, and unsafe generated outputs.
• Proficiency in test design and evaluation standards.
• Judicious use of version control at a parallel workstream scale, including branching, reviewing, and integrating concurrent changes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, feature flags, staged rollouts, and rollbacks.
• Experience with observability, metrics, traces, and incident response protocols.
• Ability to mentor engineers and sway technical decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
