System Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist with the management of the system lifecycle, which encompasses gathering requirements, planning systems, and initiating technical refresh projects.

• Work in partnership with internal teams and external partners to evaluate system requirements and facilitate the implementation of technical solutions.

• Oversee the deployment of systems, upgrades, and maintenance tasks.

• Administer system configurations, baselines, and documentation throughout the lifecycle.

• Offer technical assistance for system operations, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and resolving issues.

• Create and sustain documentation for system architecture, configuration artifacts, and operational procedures.

• Liaise with vendors and technical teams to integrate and implement system components.

• Ensure continuous monitoring, compliance, and adherence to security requirements.

• Engage in technical discussions to assess solutions and adapt to evolving program needs.

• Strategize and carry out system upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance activities.

• Provide support for federal programs based in the U.S.

• Foster a collaborative, team-focused atmosphere while managing multiple priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Clearance: Must qualify for obtaining a security clearance.

• Security+ certification is mandatory or the ability to acquire it.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

• 4–7+ years of experience in systems engineering, system administration, or related technical positions.

• Proven experience in enterprise IT environments supporting system operations and lifecycle activities.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Experience in supporting Windows Server environments and enterprise infrastructure.

• Familiarity with Active Directory and system access management processes.

• Knowledge of web/application servers such as IIS or Tomcat.

• Experience with databases like SQL Server or Oracle.

• Proficient in scripting or automation tools, such as PowerShell or Bash.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Capability to work independently in a remote, collaborative setting.

• Experience in supporting federal or DoD environments is preferred.

• Knowledge of Enterprise Information Management, content management, or data platforms is preferred.

• Familiarity with system integration, migration, or modernization initiatives is preferred.

• Experience with adapting to evolving requirements and new technologies is preferred.

• Exposure to cloud or hybrid environments such as AWS or Azure is preferred.
