
System Director – Facilities, Security, Asset Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee enterprise operations related to the Environment of Care, Safety, Emergency Management, Regulatory Compliance, Facilities Operations, Asset Lifecycle Management, Recall Management, and Facilities Vendor Governance.
• Act as the main leadership liaison for facilities management partners.
• Foster a safety-oriented culture and manage personnel involved in system safety.
• Create and manage comprehensive safety enhancement programs, including data analysis and trends.
• Provide education and training for Safety Officers.
• Develop and sustain plans, policies, and procedures for the physical environment.
• Perform annual evaluations of the physical environment, including hazard vulnerability analyses, security vulnerability analyses, Environment of Care evaluations, and Life Safety assessments.
• Ensure adherence to NFPA, OSHA, CMS, DNV, and internal standards.
• Execute regulatory inspections, emergency preparedness planning, disaster drills, decontamination planning, and all-hazards planning.
• Conduct quarterly safety audits and co-lead the Safety program.
• Provide updates on status to market CEOs and the Quality Management System.
• Analyze Environment of Care data and promote regional improvements.
• Engage in hospital committees, performance improvement initiatives, and information management activities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary safety tours during new construction projects.
• Enforce interim life safety plans and manage infection-control risk assessments.
• Act as the primary liaison for the JLL Integrated Facilities Management partnership.
• Oversee JLL contractual obligations, service levels, KPIs, audits, reports, corrective action plans, and vendor performance.
• Lead facility audits and verify compliance with vendor, regulatory, and internal policies.
• Manage facility vendor categories and oversee contracts, service levels, issue resolution, and renewals.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to achieve cost savings and service standardization.
• Manage equipment maintenance agreements and preventative maintenance programs.
• Supervise equipment service providers, performance metrics, renewals, and budgets.
• Assess asset condition, reliability, utilization, and maintenance history for capital replacement planning.
• Monitor equipment recalls, hazard notifications, and field correction notices.
• Maintain Recall Management software and distribute safety alerts.
• Coordinate recall compliance with Supply Chain, Clinical Engineering, Operations, Risk Management, and facility leadership.
• Educate leaders on recall documentation and corrective actions.
• Report recall metrics and compliance performance to executive leadership and regulatory bodies.
• Directly supervise Safety Management personnel and oversee contracted partners, consultants, and vendors.
• Conduct performance management, employee development, work prioritization, goal setting, and the achievement of departmental objectives.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.
• 5 years of General Safety or Environment of Care experience may substitute for educational requirements.
• Hospital experience is mandatory.
• 3 years of management-level experience in a role focused on either General Safety or Environment of Care programs is required.
• Knowledge and experience with hospital Infection Prevention & Control systems and standards are essential.
• Familiarity with state and federal laws, including OSHA guidelines and NFPA codes, is necessary.
• Preferred certifications include CHFM, CHSP, CHEP, CFM, and PMP.
• Must be an effective change agent.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to complete tasks, motivate others, and maintain organization, are essential.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis, cause and effect analysis, and the development of corrective or preventative action plans is required.
• Proven team-building skills with clinical and operations teams, including medical staff, are necessary.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships is essential.
• Must possess professional and effective communication skills in oral, written, and electronic formats.
• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills with proactive decision-making and negotiation abilities are required.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously is essential.
• Strong organizational skills are necessary.
• Willingness to travel to all facility locations as required is essential.
• Ability to work off-hours and be on-call when necessary is required.
