System Application Analyst – Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Execute Security Center responsibilities to safeguard all third-party applications and devices.

• Conduct security vulnerability assessments and analyses to facilitate remediation initiatives.

• Take on project management duties for small to medium-sized projects or sub-projects as designated.

• Address issues pertaining to the Security Center and undertake additional tasks as required.

• Detect, investigate, and implement security patches for third-party applications.

• Utilize security tools to recognize and prioritize system vulnerabilities.

• Assess server functionality requirements and remove unnecessary features.

• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical teams to uphold the security and compliance of third-party applications and medical devices.

• Analyze vulnerability scan outcomes and security findings to pinpoint security risks that necessitate remediation.

• Assess the potential implications of identified vulnerabilities and document the findings.

• Identify and document mitigating strategies when a patch cannot be applied to an application or device.

• Create test plans and documentation, and perform testing and validation as needed.

• Employ patch management and monitoring tools to automate and enhance patching procedures.

• Collaborate with application owners and technical teams to rectify identified security vulnerabilities.

• Oversee small to medium security projects or sub-projects while adhering to Project Management standard processes.

• Relay project status, advancements, challenges, and obstacles to the project sponsor and manager.

• Complete components of the project plan including design, build, testing, validation, training, and communication.

• Address application security concerns and review security alerts, vulnerability reports, and security findings.

• Investigate security-related issues and assist in determining root causes.

• Work in conjunction with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to resolve security issues.

• Communicate the progress and resolution of problems, documenting activities in Service Manager.

• Escalate significant risks, unresolved vulnerabilities, and recurring issues to senior analysts and management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field along with two years of relevant experience in the information technology sector or a blend of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field with four years of relevant experience in the information technology sector or a mix of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

• Associate’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and five years of relevant experience in the information technology sector or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

• Six years of relevant experience in the information technology sector or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR

• An equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience is equivalent to an Associate’s degree and two years of experience is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.

• Over 2 years of experience in Healthcare Information Systems, Application Support, Application Security, Security Analysis, Server Administration, or related IT disciplines.

• Preferred experience in reviewing vulnerability assessment results and aiding in security remediation efforts.

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, showcasing self-motivation and creativity in design approaches.

• Capable of functioning effectively in a highly dynamic team environment.

• Proactive in pursuing independent problem resolution.

• Proficient in managing multiple complex tasks efficiently while consistently meeting assigned deadlines.
