Information Security Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Contribute to, implement, and uphold the credit union’s cybersecurity program

• Investigate and address security incidents while providing status updates to management

• Review daily information-security log reports and examine anomalous activities

• Process reported social-engineering attempts and relay outcomes

• Monitor, investigate, remediate, and report security incidents in collaboration with the Incident Response Team

• Conduct organization-wide social-engineering drills and assist with training improvements

• Manage the vulnerability-management program and coordinate efforts for vulnerability remediation

• Oversee the credit union’s information-security systems and tools

• Contribute to the development of security policies, procedures, and processes

• Implement information-security strategies and objectives as approved by the Chief Information Security Officer

• Participate in the Change Control Board to ensure proper security design and controls

• Engage in industry collaboration regarding emerging security threats

• Deploy, integrate, and configure new and enhanced security solutions initially

• Advocate for security awareness and training initiatives

• Take part in NIST-based incident response processes, investigations, reviews, and tabletop exercises

• Supervise investigations and provide ongoing communications and reports on significant security events to the board, supervisory committee, and management

• Respond to and adhere to audit, regulatory, and credit union policies and procedures

• Monitor and respond to security alerts outside of business hours

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in creating enterprise security documentation

• Background in enterprise security architecture design

• Familiarity with NIST-based Incident Handling

• Technical knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection, LAN/WAN networking, DLP, NAC, SIEM, and email security

• Proficiency with vulnerability management tools like Nessus and Nexpose

• Experience using command line utilities such as Nmap and netcat

• Experience with security in cloud environments; Azure preferred

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP

• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 10 and later

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio 2016 and later

• Ability to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities

• Capacity to research IT security issues and products

• Ability to convey ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly manner

• Highly self-motivated and directed

• Team-oriented with skills for collaborative environments

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Information Systems or Computer Science

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Information Technology or Information Security

• Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, etc.
