System Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and network components.

• Ensure the availability, performance, and security of the IT infrastructure.

• Administer user accounts and authorizations.

• Monitor and sustain systems while performing regular backups.

• Analyze errors and troubleshoot issues within the IT infrastructure.

• Document system configurations and processes accurately.

• Support the implementation of new hardware and software solutions.

• Analyze and evaluate security risks and potential threats.

• Anticipate and identify problems proactively.

• Formulate, derive, and implement effective problem-solving strategies.

• Communicate and clarify issues and their implications to the client in a manner suitable for the target audience.

• Implement appropriate measures while considering functional and non-functional requirements, including high system availability, with extensive quality assurance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of cloud technologies.

• Extensive knowledge of Linux server and operating system administration.

• Extensive knowledge of network protocols and services such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.

• Extensive knowledge of cryptographic procedures, digital signatures, and certificates.

• Extensive knowledge of network security, encryption, and access control measures.

• Extensive knowledge of virtualized environments and cloud services.

• Extensive knowledge of IT security and data protection practices.

• Extensive knowledge of monitoring and backup tools.

• Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, including geo-redundancy.

• Extensive knowledge of configuring and monitoring distributed systems on application servers and within cloud-based environments.

• A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable practical experience.

• Must be based in Germany.

• Fluent in both oral and written German (C2 level required).

• Proficient in English at a sufficient level.
