Senior System Administrator, DBA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Manage and uphold Linux servers within critical, high-availability settings.

• Oversee virtualized environments utilizing KVM, Proxmox, and VMware.

• Conduct diagnostics, analyze performance, and optimize servers, virtualization, storage, and systems.

• Install, configure, and administer Oracle databases.

• Ensure adherence to security, backup, recovery, and business continuity protocols for the environments.

• Monitor system logs, execute updates, apply patches, and address vulnerabilities.

• Manage and configure storage solutions, including EMC VNX and HP 3PAR.

• Assist in planning and executing benchmarks, performance assessments, capacity planning, and infrastructure design.

• Identify and resolve infrastructure-related challenges through systematic troubleshooting.

• Create and sustain automation routines using scripts and management tools.

• Provide remote support and work collaboratively with development, database, network, and other infrastructure teams.

• Assess and implement AI tools and agents for automation, diagnostics, observability, and enhancement of operational tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in administering Linux servers (5+ years).

• Proficiency in managing virtualized environments, ideally with KVM, Proxmox, and/or VMware.

• Expertise in installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases (5+ years).

• Experience in troubleshooting, log analysis, and monitoring servers and infrastructure.

• Understanding of backup, restore, security, and recovery procedures for environments.

• Familiarity with storage and SAN, as well as concepts of volume, LUN, and multipathing.

• Experience or enthusiasm for leveraging generative AI and AI agents for infrastructure management and automation.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate technical issues clearly and objectively.

• Background in high-availability and clustered environments.

• Intermediate English skills for reading, writing, and conversation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience as a System Administrator and Database Administrator.

• Knowledge of automation scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.).

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus).

• Understanding of DevOps tools and practices (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, OCI, etc.).
