Linux Systems Administrator – Level 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute daily operational tasks during assigned shifts

• Engage in a weekly on-call rotation

• Perform system maintenance and patching during designated maintenance windows

• Deliver daily operational support and maintenance for server environments

• Diagnose, triage, and resolve issues across all environments

• Assist with scheduled code deployments as required

• Manage load balancing devices and configurations as necessary

• Utilize configuration management tools to sustain and update the environment

• Uphold platform integrity by adhering to compliance and security protocols

• Construct new servers utilizing corporate virtualization infrastructure

• Contribute to project work under supervision as needed

• Act as an escalation point for Level 1 System Administrators

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience managing Linux hosts in production settings

• 2-5 years of experience with VMWare virtualization products in a production environment

• 2-5 years of experience with Apache web servers, Apache Tomcat, Java, and Perl

• Proficiency in event management, incident response, and problem-solving

• Strong technical aptitude and a willingness to tackle challenges

• Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical capabilities

• Experience with the LAMP stack (preferred)

• Familiarity with Puppet, Chef, or other configuration management tools (preferred)

• Experience with version control systems such as git, svn, cvs, or similar (preferred)

• Exposure to Jenkins, Travis CI, or other automation tools (preferred)

• Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other SQL databases (preferred)
