Swahili Language Linguist, Original Puzzle Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Compose unique reasoning prompts in Swahili.

• Design puzzles that encompass linguistic reasoning, cultural insights, and wordplay/riddles.

• Create intricate puzzles that focus on grammar, syntax, linguistic ambiguity, cultural nuances, local traditions, culturally relevant mathematics, puns, and double entendres.

• Provide the native-language prompt, correct answer, explanation, English translation, and difficulty rating for each puzzle submitted.

• Ensure all puzzles are original, cannot be found online, are not plagiarized, and do not simply translate existing puzzles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluency in Swahili at a native level with outstanding writing abilities.

• Strong command of English for precise translations and justifications.

• Educational background in Linguistics, Creative Writing, Translation, or Logic/Mathematics.

• Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.

• Capability to design challenges that require lateral thinking, cultural understanding, and multi-step reasoning.

• Knowledge of how automated and computational systems interpret language.

• Skill in crafting original puzzles that are resistant to automated solving methods and online searches.

• Puzzles should be solvable by an intelligent, educated native speaker.
