Senior Technical Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the overall vision of the Cyberpunk 2 project.

• Identify obstacles and streamline workflows for all design disciplines.

• Collaborate with the Lead Systems Designer and Engineering Leads to address developmental challenges.

• Develop workflows and designer authorship tools, including abilities and items, in partnership with engineering.

• Facilitate knowledge sharing between design and engineering to create a cohesive approach.

• Enhance existing technical architecture by adding features that expand functionality for designers.

• Ensure clarity in designs through thorough documentation, collaborative meetings, and effective team communication.

• Foster the exchange of feedback and ideas across various disciplines.

• Report directly to the Lead Systems Designer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in the gaming industry in a technical design role.

• At least one completed AAA title.

• Proficiency in writing C++ within Unreal Engine 4 or 5.

• Strong understanding of C++, including the ability to analyze system functionality and debug code.

• Capability to evaluate developer workflows and tools that enhance the implementation experience and efficiency for designers.

• Enthusiasm for workflows, tools, and the sharing of knowledge.

• Adaptability and robust problem-solving skills during fast-paced iterations.

• Ability to clearly articulate design concepts, document workflows, and provide feedback across disciplines.

• Passion for video games, along with up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, game genres, design methodologies, techniques, and audio-visual excellence.

• Familiarity with IMGUI is a plus.

• An affinity for role-playing games and an understanding of player expectations is a plus.

• Additional experience in designing and utilizing gameplay-related systems is a plus.
