šŸ“‹ Description

• Lead the vision, strategy, priorities, investment decisions, and operational framework for Mailgun across Send, Optimize, Validate, Inspect, associated platform functionalities, and the Email on Acid transition.

• Build and nurture high-performing product, engineering, and platform teams with defined ownership, execution discipline, technical expertise, and a customer-centric approach.

• Balance aspects of growth, platform modernization, reliability, security, scalability, technical debt, and predictable delivery.

• Develop and implement the product, technical, commercial, and go-to-market strategy to establish Sinch Email, powered by Mailgun, as a premier offering within Sinch Build.

• Oversee revenue growth, gross profit, margins, pricing, packaging, product-led growth, customer adoption, retention, expansion, and enterprise growth.

• Enhance Mailgun’s standing as an API-first email platform, ensuring reliable delivery, validation, quality assurance, deliverability intelligence, observability, and optimization at scale.

• Create a seamless customer journey encompassing sending, deliverability, testing, analytics, onboarding, account management, billing, support, and cross-product workflows.

• Collaborate with sales, marketing, customer success, partnerships, finance, operations, and regional teams on positioning, conversion, pipeline management, strategic accounts, expansion, and retention efforts.

• Ensure that architecture, security, reliability, data governance, compliance, deliverability operations, and operational discipline cater to global enterprise customers and high-volume senders.

• Broaden the ecosystem through developer channels, MarTech integrations, marketplaces, embedded product initiatives, strategic partnerships, and native Sinch integrations.

• Establish and monitor operational metrics encompassing acquisition, activation, conversion, usage, deliverability, retention, expansion, customer satisfaction, reliability, costs, and unit economics.


ā›³ļø Requirements

• 12–15+ years of experience in product management, engineering leadership, and business leadership, including significant time in senior executive roles.

• Proven experience in leading both product and engineering teams, holding accountability for complete product delivery from strategy through execution, operations, and product performance.

• Demonstrated success in scaling SaaS, API-first, developer platform, or communications products across self-service, product-led growth, enterprise sales, and partner-led initiatives.

• Strong commercial insight, including P&L ownership, pricing and packaging strategies, gross margin enhancement, portfolio investment decisions, and resource allocation trade-offs.

• Profound customer orientation with keen instincts for developer experience, onboarding, activation, deliverability, reliability, retention, and expansion.

• Experience navigating complex, global, cross-functional environments with distributed teams and diverse regional go-to-market strategies.

• Exceptional executive communication skills, capable of aligning senior stakeholders, representing Sinch with strategic customers and partners, and clarifying intricate trade-offs.

• Proven capability to lead through change while maintaining urgency, clarity, accountability, and team well-being.

• Nice to have, but not required: background in email infrastructure, deliverability, email marketing, CPaaS, customer engagement, developer platforms, MarTech, or related SaaS sectors.

• Nice to have, but not required: experience in leading branded portfolios through integration, modernization, consolidation, or migration processes.

• Nice to have, but not required: familiarity with AI-enabled analytics, automation, recommendations, observability, or performance optimization products.

• Nice to have, but not required: experience in developing ecosystems, marketplaces, partnerships, or embedded product initiatives.

• An MBA or equivalent business leadership experience is a plus but not mandatory.
