This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the planning and implementation of projects that enhance surveillance, radar, and associated NAS systems.
• Prioritize and manage resources, schedules, risks, and deliverables to meet program goals.
• Lead cross-functional teams to foster collaboration, accountability, and successful mission outcomes.
• Collaborate with FAA Technical Operations, ATSS staff, engineers, system vendors, and program leadership.
• Handle stakeholder communication, manage requirements, track action items, and provide project updates.
• Recognize risks and technical obstacles, formulating efficient mitigation plans.
• Create project roadmaps, timelines, reports, and other essential program documentation.
• Assist in modernization, system integration, change management, and ongoing improvement efforts.
• Ensure all work aligns with FAA standards, technical specifications, quality metrics, timelines, and mission objectives.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Capacity to obtain and sustain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years, Associate’s degree with 10 years, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in project leadership within the surveillance, radar, or related NAS systems.
• Required FAA Technical Operations (TechOps) experience, including direct involvement with TSOG and/or ATSS in support of mission-critical NAS infrastructure.
• Practical experience with airport surveillance/radar systems, covering system architecture, hardware/software, interfaces, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation.
• Background in coordinating installation, modifications, system acceptance, and field deployment activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of working with technical teams and senior leadership.
• Ability to balance competing priorities, manage risks, and achieve results in complex, mission-critical settings.
• Preferred: Experience with FAA TechOps, TSOG, or ATSS; SMR/ASDE experience is highly sought after.
• Preferred: Background in supporting FAA NextGen, NAS modernization, or federal aviation programs.
• Preferred: Experience in managing federal modernization or large-scale enterprise initiatives.
• Preferred: Knowledge of FAA standards, facility directives, and compliance obligations.
• Preferred: Understanding of risk management, budgeting, and program governance.
