Supply Chain Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee inventory planning for raw materials, packaging, and finished products

• Maintain safety stock levels and reorder thresholds by SKU and material

• Prepare data inputs, run various scenarios, publish results, and track follow-up actions for the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)

• Develop and sustain formula-driven, auditable planning models and run-rate tools

• Assist in supplier negotiations by conducting cost analysis, comparing quotes, and modeling should-cost scenarios

• Ensure accurate management of supplier contracts, pricing records, expirations, commitments, and renewal timelines

• Track supplier On-Time In-Full (OTIF), quality performance, risk metrics, and scorecards

• Monitor risks associated with single-source suppliers, tariff changes, capacity constraints, and supplier financial health, as well as contingency strategies

• Identify aging and obsolete inventory, coordinating escalation and disposition processes

• Guarantee three-way invoice matching and assist in resolving discrepancies

• Liaise with co-manufacturers regarding scheduling, materials, and issue resolution

• Create and maintain production schedules, confirming material availability

• Manage ingredients by applying First Expired, First Out (FEFO) principles

• Track yield and scrap metrics, investigate variances, and support root-cause analysis

• Maintain batch and lot traceability from raw materials to finished goods

• Monitor production costs against standards and provide explanations for variances

• Conduct inventory reconciliations and raw material cycle counts across co-manufacturers and third-party logistics (3PLs)

• Manage disposal and write-off procedures, including documentation, approvals, and coordination with Finance

• Report to and collaborate closely with the Supply Chain Manager as a proactive individual contributor

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain, planning, procurement, logistics, or a related operations position

• Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), food, beverage, or supplements is highly preferred

• Proficient in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, INDEX/MATCH or XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and scenario modeling

• Ability to create clean, formula-driven workbooks and planning tools without hardcoded values

• Experience collaborating directly with co-manufacturers, 3PLs, contract packagers, or similar external operations partners

• Strong analytical capabilities and comfort in working with inventory, production, supplier, and cost data

• Exceptional discipline in follow-up tasks

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple suppliers, production schedules, materials, and deadlines

• Clear and direct written communication skills, comfortable engaging with external suppliers and internal cross-functional teams

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

• Hands-on approach with a willingness to investigate inventory, production, or supplier discrepancies

• Familiarity with FEFO, lot traceability, and food-safety documentation, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) is a plus

• Experience with ERP or inventory management systems such as NetSuite, Cin7, Fishbowl, or similar is advantageous

• Background in food and beverage manufacturing is beneficial

• Experience in supporting supplier scorecards, OTIF measurement, or supplier performance initiatives is a plus

• Exposure to Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) or structured production and inventory planning processes is advantageous
