Supply Chain Category Manager – Raw Material

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee category and operational management for designated commodities

• Enhance total cost, quality, delivery, and reliability to achieve organizational objectives

• Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers within the assigned commodities

• Categorize assigned spend into sub-commodity groups to establish operational excellence levers

• Formulate commodity strategies aimed at improving Total Cost of Ownership and ensuring supply continuity

• Recognize and address risks and opportunities within the commodity strategy

• Implement the commodity strategy by optimizing the preferred supplier list, awarding suppliers, and establishing Long Term Agreements

• Propel continuous improvements in cost, delivery, quality, service, and profitability year-over-year

• Analyze Power BI and other analytical tools to identify drivers of commodity and spend/cost projections

• Conduct regular business reviews with strategic suppliers, internal teams, and senior leadership as part of supplier relationship management

• Develop presentations for supplier relationship reviews, commodity strategies, risk mitigation proposals, 4-Blockers, and gap analyses related to suppliers and commodities

• Formulate plans to achieve annual targets regarding payment terms, on-time delivery, productivity, inflation, and other procurement metrics

• Investigate, monitor, and share industry trends, best practices, relevant indices, and competitive offerings

• Cultivate collaborative relationships with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement teams

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Over 5 years of experience in procurement

• Preferred experience in complex engineering, procurement, and construction project industries, with a focus on procurement

• At least 3 years of negotiation experience, including Request For Information, Request For Proposal, Request For Quotation, and contract development

• Proficient in vendor management, encompassing purchase order issuance, execution, and administration

• Familiarity with Project ERP systems such as SAP or Ariba, or a similar system in a global organization
