This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Oversee Supplier Quality & Development processes and projects as an individual contributor.
• Offer insights on supplier qualification/certification, evaluation, monitoring, escape management, and resolution of quality issues.
• Manage supplier quality performance through prevention, monitoring, escalation, and processes related to nonconforming materials.
• Assist in the onboarding and qualification/certification of suppliers.
• Supervise source inspection and material release processes.
• Lead escape management, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Analyze quality data to pinpoint systemic issues and devise supplier-specific quality initiative strategies.
• Facilitate the implementation of PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, and SPC.
• Ensure suppliers comply with contract requirements, including Resourcing Gate, PPAP acceptance, and Work Transfer implementation.
• Implement Business Continuity management methodology at RTX suppliers.
• Initiate projects aimed at achieving quality-at-rate sustainability and meeting supplier performance targets.
• Identify supplier weaknesses, capabilities, capacities, areas for improvement, and development needs.
• Utilize GSQ TT tools, such as Gemba walks, MPR, Quality Improvement Plans, Control Towers, LEAN, and Six Sigma.
• Communicate and present recovery plans to key stakeholders, leadership, and customers.
• Define and oversee Supplier Transformation Projects.
• Assist Strategic Sourcing commodities in the development of supply chain strategy.
• Foster a quality mindset, continuous improvement, and preventive KPIs.
• Manage moderately sized projects or processes as a subject-matter expert.
• Provide research and guidance for Red-X and 8D root cause analysis and problem-solving.
• Oversee supplier qualification/certification, source inspection, material release, Corrective Action Boards, and DQ Clinics.
• Support the RTX ZERO program.
• Travel up to 75% domestically and internationally.
• Generally requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience unless restricted by local laws/regulations.
• 8+ years of professional experience in a supply chain operations setting, including monitoring, auditing, or developing suppliers/operations, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Quality Regulations and Quality Core Tools.
• Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), including AS 9100 and ISO 9001.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens are permitted to access information under this program/contract.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or industrial engineering is preferred.
• Skills in Practical Problem Solving and International Management.
• Experience with FAA, TC, and EASA is preferred.
• Skills in Auditing/Assessing, Risk Management, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) are desirable.
• Green Belt/Black Belt certification and CPIM certification are desirable.
