Supplier Quality Engineer – PWB, Electronics Category

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement tools and processes that ensure suppliers maintain strong manufacturing practices, testing procedures, and acceptance plans.

• Investigate, assess, resolve, mitigate, and/or prevent quality issues through audits, analyzing defect trends, leading failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Utilize corrective and preventive action methodologies.

• Travel to selected suppliers for performance updates, audits, capability assessments, process evaluations, and optimization efforts.

• Leverage supplier scorecards, metrics, and analytical tools to measure the performance levels of assigned suppliers.

• Collaborate with suppliers to formulate improvement strategies.

• Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis initiatives.

• Conduct source inspections of products at supplier facilities.

• Execute and assess First Article Inspections.

• Promote a “Zero Defect” culture within the PWB supply chain.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2-4+ years of relevant experience, or 6-8+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

• Background in a Printed Wired Board (PWB) manufacturing environment and related roles within the PWB/PCB bare board sector.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team with diverse skills and experiences.

• Professional experience in the PCB/PWB manufacturing field.

• Experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering position.

• Familiarity with electrical/mechanical inspections, product testing, and instrumentation.

• Direct understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics from raw materials to finished products.

• Proven problem-solving skills utilizing structured methodologies and systems.

• Strong communication skills, able to convey ideas clearly, directly, and objectively to all organizational levels.
