Engineering Technician 4, Quality Assurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist with ground and flight testing of the XBAT prototype.

• Conduct inspections during various stages: in-process, final, pre-test, and post-test of XBAT prototype hardware.

• Examine mechanical, electrical, structural, composite, and electromechanical assemblies using the appropriate measurement tools.

• Confirm hardware configuration, workmanship, dimensions, torque, installation, and traceability in line with engineering specifications.

• Facilitate ground and flight test readiness by ensuring inspections and documentation are thoroughly completed.

• Assess and document the hardware condition after testing, noting any damage, failures, or unusual conditions.

• Gather measurements, photographs, and inspection data to aid engineering investigations.

• Recognize, record, and manage nonconformances; assist with MRB, root-cause analysis, and corrective measures.

• Work collaboratively with Quality, Manufacturing, Test, and Design Engineering to address prototype quality challenges.

• Contribute to the creation and enhancement of inspection plans, checklists, acceptance criteria, and quality processes.

• Keep precise inspection, configuration, and quality records for serialized prototype hardware.

• Detect recurring issues and provide insights to engineering and manufacturing teams to enhance product and process quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, aviation, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience in supporting prototype development or conducting flight tests.

• Background in hands-on inspection, testing, manufacturing, or troubleshooting of intricate aerospace hardware.

• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

• Preferred: Familiarity with UAVs, aircraft, flight hardware, or aerospace structures.

• Preferred: Knowledge of GD&T, composites, electrical systems, or electromechanical assemblies.

• Preferred: Experience with nonconformance processes, MRB, RCCA, or failure investigations.

• Preferred: Awareness of AS9100 standards.
