Senior Functional QA Engineer – SaaS Billing Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Qatar.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold a detailed functional testing strategy for SaaS billing and cloud-data integrations.

• Create test scenarios that encompass billing configurations, subscription lifecycle processes, invoice creation, payment handling, and revenue-related data flows.

• Conduct functional testing primarily using the platform’s graphical interfaces.

• Verify configurations, business workflows, and integration points across standard, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.

• Organize testing activities in collaboration with platform administrators and technical stakeholders.

• Validate REST API integration points using tools such as Postman, Newman, or similar alternatives.

• Evaluate existing data-parity reports and query results to spot anomalies and report discrepancies.

• Document test cases, execution evidence, results, defects, and retesting findings.

• Work with business and engineering stakeholders to ensure functional test coverage aligns with business rules and integration behaviors.

• Relay updates on testing progress, risks, blockers, defects, and quality issues.

• Conduct regression testing to ensure that resolved defects do not adversely impact related billing or subscription workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in Functional Quality Assurance, including hands-on testing of complex SaaS or enterprise applications.

• Significant experience in conducting functional testing directly through web-based graphical interfaces.

• Ability to independently develop structured and thorough test plans that encompass business workflows, integrations, negative scenarios, boundary conditions, and edge cases.

• Practical experience in testing billing or subscription processes, including subscription modifications, mid-cycle changes, invoice generation, and payment events.

• Extensive experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Hands-on experience in REST API testing utilizing Postman, Newman, or equivalent tools.

• Basic SQL knowledge, with the capability to interpret query results and data-parity reports.

• Capability to facilitate collaborative testing sessions with platform administrators and technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical skills to identify non-obvious failure scenarios.

• Detail-oriented documentation abilities, including maintaining test cases, execution evidence, results, and defect logs.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Availability to collaborate during Pacific Time business hours.

• Nice to have: experience with Zuora Billing, Revenue, or Subscription Management interfaces.

• Nice to have: experience with billing-platform migrations, ERP transitions, or similar system-integration projects.

• Nice to have: familiarity with cloud data platforms or data warehouses, particularly GCP or BigQuery.

• Nice to have: experience with automated regression-testing frameworks such as Cypress or pytest.

• Nice to have: ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent testing credential.
