Supplier Quality Engineer – Level 3/4

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, develop, and assess the manufacturing and quality capabilities of Liebherr’s supply chain.

• Ensure the smooth operation of materials suppliers.

• Utilize quality methodologies, statistical analysis, requirements comprehension, problem-solving skills, and supplier process and capability enhancement.

• Conduct audits of supplier systems and processes.

• Execute value engineering initiatives and cost-reduction projects.

• Establish new supplier quality strategies.

• Serve as a liaison between suppliers and Liebherr regarding quality, production, and process capability issues.

• Identify, investigate, analyze, and resolve quality, production, and control issues related to purchased products.

• Promote and apply quality tools and techniques.

• Perform cross-functional audits, create reports, and follow up on corrective measures.

• Analyze data and produce reports along with quality metrics.

• Facilitate root cause analysis as well as corrective and preventive actions.

• Create quality and technical documentation.

• Assist production operations with quality-related matters.

• Propel quality and process enhancements while monitoring supplier performance and scorecards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.

• Manage projects and resources with minimal oversight at Level 3.

• Communicate and oversee projects with suppliers, Purchasing, and Engineering at Level 4.

• Supervise the assignments of Levels 1, 2, and 3 SQEs and provide personnel-performance feedback at Level 4.

• Plan and delegate personnel for projects and tasks at Level 4.

⛳️ Requirements

• Level 3: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college, preferably in an engineering-related field, with two to four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing, engineering, or quality.

• Level 4 (Senior): Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college, preferably in an engineering-related field, with four to six years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing, engineering, or quality.

• Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% to customer or supplier locations.

• Capability to complete and maintain mine certifications or safety training such as Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) hazard training.

• Ability to obtain and keep a valid driver’s license and passport.

• Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States without the necessity for current or future sponsorship.

• Extensive knowledge of statistical analysis and APQP methodology for Level 4 responsibilities.

• Familiarity with engineering, quality, project management principles, practices, and procedures in supply chain management for Level 4 responsibilities.
