Quality Assurance Analyst – Medical Facility Surveys

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Review, format, and edit Form CMS 2567s (Statements of Deficiencies) created by surveyors.

• Utilize CMS data applications, including ASPEN data reporting and retrieval systems, to facilitate the exchange of survey documentation.

• Verify ASPEN data for formatting, accuracy, grammar, and spelling.

• Ensure that survey documents submitted to CMS, Regional Offices, state agencies, or other external organizations comply with requirements.

• Evaluate individual surveyor citation patterns, performance, and inter-rater reliability.

• Gather and analyze Quality Assurance Performance Improvement data.

• Identify improvement indicators and discuss potential changes with OSP staff.

• Assist in implementing new methodologies aimed at enhancing survey processes and surveyor performance.

• Monitor changes, analyze outcomes, and report findings.

• Support training efforts for survey staff using CMS-approved materials and updates.

• Assess surveyor performance and provide retraining as necessary.

• Ensure that Form CMS 2567s are submitted to CMS within 5 business days following the exit interview.

• Notify CMS when extensions are warranted and coordinate documentation review with survey team leaders.

• Maintain communication with surveyors and participate in pre- and post-survey conference calls.

• Gather and analyze surveyor feedback on CMS training programs and prepare written summaries for monthly CMS reports.

• Assist CMS in analyzing survey findings to identify needs for training, program clarification, or provider re-education.

• Attend CMS-related conference calls and participate in surveys as directed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Registered Nurse, Licensed Dietitian, Licensed Social Worker, or Generalist with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a health care facility surveyor.

• Knowledge of and experience with Quality Assurance Performance Improvement.

• Experience in education.

• Familiarity with federal regulations concerning Medicare and Medicaid requirements for health care providers.

• Strong grammar and writing abilities.

• A valid driver's license that must be held and maintained.

• Attend CMS annual surveyor training and any subsequent required trainings.

• Participate in surveys as directed.
