Supplier Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Ensure that OSATs uphold robust Quality Management Systems, adhere to industry quality certifications, receive training in Semtech Quality Requirements, and comply with all necessary standards.

• Perform audits on QMS, manufacturing processes, preventive measures, SCAR, and products; address any identified gaps and non-compliance issues.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives at OSATs to mitigate customer complaints and internal quality incidents, while decreasing defect rates.

• Prepare OSATs for audits by Semtech's end customers and implement necessary corrective or improvement measures.

• Disseminate lessons learned and best practices among OSATs.

• Address supplier quality incidents and guarantee effective corrective and preventive actions are taken.

• Advocate for Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, MSA, FMEA, Control Plan, and SPC methodologies.

• Deliver feedback on OSAT quality and operational performance through scorecards and meetings.

• Assist in the disposition of non-conforming materials, conduct process change reviews, assess customer information, and review supplier quality data.

• Collaborate with Engineering teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability.

• Aid in new product launches and ensure supplier readiness.

• Support corporate requests for customer information, including OSAT compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.

• Report directly to the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in Quality Control within semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, and final testing environments.

• Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 8D, PPAP, and PFMEA.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to instruct basic problem-solving techniques and facilitate team problem-solving events.

• Experience in developing part certification processes and vendor quality metrics.

• Knowledge of quality management systems and standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 9000.

• Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to lead Engineers and inspectors effectively.

• Skill in formulating and maintaining quality control objectives.

• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
