This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and manage a team of QA professionals through direct people leadership, focusing on performance management, coaching, development, feedback, and accountability.
• Establish quality expectations, execution standards, ownership, communication protocols, professional standards, and collaborative delivery partnerships.
• Allocate tasks, set priorities, and oversee team capacity management.
• Mentor team members in testing capabilities, technical judgment, automation knowledge, leadership qualities, and professional effectiveness.
• Recognize high-potential employees and create pathways for increased responsibility and career advancement.
• Develop succession plans, enhance bench strength, and build long-term capabilities for essential QA positions.
• Anticipate staffing, capacity, and skill requirements, recommending actions for hiring, development, contract staffing, or resource planning.
• Assume ownership of quality outcomes for assigned products, teams, initiatives, or functional areas.
• Ensure disciplined planning, execution, risk management, defect handling, release readiness, and adherence to quality practices.
• Provide recommendations for release readiness based on quality metrics, business impact, customer risk, and stability in production.
• Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks that could influence customers, business operations, delivery confidence, or production results.
• Oversee the adoption and execution of the QA automation strategy.
• Set expectations for automation coverage, reliability, maintainability, integration with delivery, ownership, and measurable value.
• Assess the automation strategy, coverage, effectiveness, maintainability, and return on investment.
• Implement, enforce, and enhance QA standards, governance, operational models, delivery expectations, and quality practices.
• Utilize metrics, trends, quality indicators, and feedback loops to pinpoint risks, root causes, and areas for improvement.
• Act as the primary QA leader for Development, Product, and Business stakeholders.
• Collaborate throughout the software delivery lifecycle to enhance clarity of requirements, planning efficiency, risk identification, testability, and delivery readiness.
• Address ambiguity, ownership gaps, conflicting priorities, and cross-team challenges.
• Champion the adoption of new practices, operational models, tools, and organizational changes.
• Communicate updates on status, risks, quality indicators, customer impact, and readiness decisions.
• Manage a team of up to 15 direct reports as IT Quality Assurance Analysts, along with several indirect reports.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• At least six years of experience in QA roles is necessary.
• A minimum of two years in a managerial position is required.
• Preferably, at least two years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience in leading QA professionals and driving results through teamwork.
• Proven experience in overseeing testing efforts across complex initiatives, portfolios, or delivery domains.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise testing practices, automation strategies, operational models, delivery frameworks, and quality governance.
• Experience in leading teams utilizing test automation and integrating automation into delivery methodologies.
• Background in assessing automation effectiveness, setting automation standards, and holding teams accountable for automation results.
• Familiarity with backend, API, data validation, or Microsoft SQL Server testing practices is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based applications, and third-party software tools is required.
• A commitment to upholding company values.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
• Capacity to learn new tasks, recall processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make prompt decisions.
• Availability to work primarily during the Monday to Friday business week.
