Supplier Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Operate independently in a remote setting and visit suppliers on-site to verify that quality standards are upheld

• Perform supplier audits and assessments to pinpoint areas of non-compliance and document RCCA items

• Collaborate with suppliers to oversee and support the execution of RCCA improvement plans in alignment with the RAIL agenda

• Create supplier recovery strategies to enhance Supplier Quality scores and minimize Supplier Quality Corrective actions

• Design and apply quality control processes and procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and customer specifications

• Execute inspections and tests on products, components, and materials to detect defects or deviations from specifications

• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective measures

• Mentor new team members and organize travel schedules and suppliers to support the project lead

• Evaluate data and produce reports to monitor quality performance and discover opportunities for enhancement

• Identify deficiencies in supply chain and production timelines and suggest alternatives and solutions based on current data

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in assessments and audits within the aerospace, automotive, or other related sectors

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar field

• In-depth understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools

• Proficiency in MS Office

• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including AS9100 and ISO 9001

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Detail-oriented with a keen emphasis on accuracy and precision

• Effective communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting

• US Citizenship is mandatory

• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required

• 90% travel is necessary

• Experience in a leadership position is a plus
