Supplier Metallurgical Control Specialist – Northeast Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and authorize suppliers' systems for chemical and metallurgical process control.

• Perform product and process assessments and monitoring at various suppliers.

• Assess and sanction suppliers' metallurgical and chemical methodologies.

• Engage in chemical and metallurgical matters and investigations at suppliers that may affect P&W.

• Provide training on P&W quality material control system standards at supplier locations.

• Take part in the endorsement of engineering-controlled processes for critical applications.

• Collaborate with other P&W business units to enhance overall supplier quality.

• Aid suppliers in preparing non-conformance documentation.

• Serve as a resource and mentor for root-cause corrective-action investigations.

• Interact with employees at all levels within supplier organizations.

• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.

• Participate in team audits and manufacturing process evaluations.

• Travel frequently across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.


⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens are permitted to access information under this program/contract.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience.

• A degree in Material Science/Engineering is preferred.

• Experience in testing and quality control of raw materials, finished products, and processing.

• Familiarity with chemical/metallurgical processes, encompassing laser machining, electro-discharge machining, electro-chemical grinding, brazing, coatings, welding, and heat treatment.

• Understanding of product integrity.

• Knowledge of quality control standards.

• Experience in monitoring suppliers’ quality systems.

• Experience in auditing suppliers’ processes and products.

• Must reside in the Northeast region, covering CT, MA, NH, VT, and ME.

• Minimum of 30% travel required.
