This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily functions of the Refunds department.

• Supervise and provide training to designated staff members.

• Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations regarding employment and disciplinary actions.

• Coordinate work assignments efficiently.

• Manage credit balance inventory and address patient and insurance refund requests within established turnaround times.

• Monitor trends and identify opportunities for enhancements, innovative solutions, and ongoing process improvements.

• Track, maintain, and oversee employee performance metrics.

• Ensure that quality audits are conducted in a timely and consistent manner.

• Engage with clients and Client Services teams by addressing inquiries and providing credit balance reports and updates on projects.

• Contribute to the development and delivery of employee training courses and materials.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Two (2) years of experience interpreting medical Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and managing credit balance/refund processes.

• One (1) year of experience in posting medical payments to billing.

• Preferred: Six (6) months of supervisory/management/leadership experience.

• Experience in processing electronic and manual payer EOBs, including understanding insurance allowable amounts, patient portions, denials, adjustments, and contractual allowances.

• Strong working knowledge of departmental roles and responsibilities.

• Excellent supervisory and management abilities.

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.

• Strong mathematical skills, including whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals.

• Extensive experience with Excel, particularly in using pivot tables and analyzing large datasets.

• Exceptional time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

• Ability to read, comprehend, and apply state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.

• Capacity to remain adaptable and work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Skill in communicating with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.
