This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee client service level agreement metrics, delivery expectations, and turnaround timelines.
• Facilitate monthly client meetings either via phone or in person.
• Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders to achieve client and corporate goals.
• Assess client satisfaction, progress, and success through various metrics.
• Identify and address client issues or concerns promptly.
• Deliver periodic client status reports to leadership teams.
• Conduct monthly meetings with clients to discuss reporting packages and operational matters.
• Supervise direct reports, including conducting performance reviews, fostering team member development, and implementing corrective actions.
• Resolve coding and charge-capture challenges with client contacts.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to tackle coding quality issues.
• Enhance existing products and services while assisting in the development of new offerings.
• Support direct reports with coding diagnosis and procedures using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS.
• Provide guidance or assistance with the interpretation of coding guidelines.
• Ensure that direct reports comprehend documentation requirements and their impact on reimbursement.
• Align conduct with AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding as well as the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
• Encourage adherence to internal policies, privacy and security regulations, and the safeguarding of confidential information, including PHI.
• Engage in risk mitigation efforts and rectify deficiencies.
• Fulfill assigned responsibilities and support the company's training and educational initiatives.
• National coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
• Commitment to ongoing CEUs to maintain certifications and stay updated with coding standards.
• Preferred experience in both Professional and Facility coding.
• At least 5 years of experience in medical coding (inpatient, outpatient, or professional services).
• A minimum of 2 years of prior leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and uphold quality and accuracy.
• Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to navigate diverse EMR systems and review handwritten documentation.
• Capacity to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
• Ability to collaborate with personnel possessing varying skill sets in a team-oriented environment.
• Capability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours each day.
• Ability to lift and transport materials weighing up to 20 lbs. infrequently.
