Summer Intern – Safety/Industrial Hygiene

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with leaders in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) throughout the organization.

• Engage in hands-on, project-based assignments.

• Assist in the formulation and execution of safety and industrial hygiene standards and programs.

• Take part in EHS team meetings.

• Regularly present on topics related to safety, industrial hygiene, and project updates.

• Conduct hazard assessments and propose mitigation strategies.

• Inspect and assess workplace environments, equipment, and practices for compliance with regulations.

• Participate in investigations of potential exposures to determine root causes and corrective measures.

• Work within an inspection or audit team.

• Create safety briefs and training resources.

• Provide training sessions to enhance EHS knowledge.

• Analyze data, recommend corrective actions, and prepare reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.

• Completion of coursework in occupational safety, environmental science, or industrial hygiene is mandatory.

• Some familiarity with safety regulatory requirements.

• Access to reliable transportation for commuting to and from work locations (within 50 miles).

• Availability to travel to other Westinghouse locations, which may include international travel.
