This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate within a project team alongside engineers and designers to deliver comprehensive electrical design and project management for distribution and transmission substation initiatives.
• Engage in project conceptualization, work planning, and execution phases.
• Conduct investigations, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical engineering and design challenges.
• Generate reports and support project deliverables that effectively communicate technical and project information while adhering to client specifications and S&L formats.
• Create facility studies, general arrangements, equipment plans and sections, foundation plans, grounding and conduit plans, equipment connection details, as well as control building plans and sections.
• Enhance professional growth through peer learning and knowledge exchange within S&L Communities of Practice.
• Travel to client locations as necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the physical layout and design of Transmission and Distribution Substations.
• Proficient in physical design techniques, tools, and principles for creating technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D models.
• Solid understanding of engineering science and technology with the ability to correlate equipment to a technical design.
• Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects within budget and time constraints.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings produced by others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Bentley Substation, BlueBeam, AutoCAD E, or SDS design software is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to perform substation grounding, direct stroke shielding, and battery and charger sizing calculations is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with transmission lines and protection and controls is advantageous but not necessary.
• Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards and the National Electrical Safety Code is valued but not required.
• FE or PE license is preferred but not mandatory.
