This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee or assist in the design of HV/MV substations (69kV–500kV), covering physical layout, grounding, protection and control, as well as equipment specifications.
• Create one-line, three-line, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment plans.
• Generate construction drawing packages for substations.
• Prepare bills of materials and acquire minor materials.
• Ensure that designs adhere to NESC, IEEE, NEC, and utility standards.
• Work in collaboration with procurement, construction, and project management teams throughout the EPC lifecycle.
• Offer engineering support during construction, which includes RFIs, field modifications, and technical clarifications.
• Evaluate vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documentation.
• Engage in constructability reviews.
• Assist with commissioning activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of substation engineering experience within utilities, EPC firms, or engineering consultancies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of high-voltage substation design, protection and control, and physical layout.
• Experience in an EPC project environment; full lifecycle exposure is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or comparable engineering software.
• Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, NEC, and utility specifications.
• Strong communication skills and capability for remote collaboration.
• EIT certification or PE license is advantageous.
• Previous project experience with large utilities.
• Skilled in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
