Substance Use Disorder, Peer Recovery Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Team Lead.

• Offer individualized peer support to those with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) by utilizing personal lived experiences.

• Create tailored recovery plans for members based on their unique strengths and needs.

• Work in partnership with clinical and support teams to deliver comprehensive member care.

• Keep precise and timely records of member interactions, progress, and outcomes.

• Advocate for members and assist them in accessing community resources and services.

• Engage in continuous training and professional development activities.

• Support the onboarding and mentoring of new team members.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.

• Conduct 50–60 twenty-minute support sessions per week.

• Foster high levels of member satisfaction, engagement, reassessment rates, effective team collaboration, and timely documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is required.

• At least 2 years of experience in providing peer support to individuals with SUD.

• Must have personal experience with substance use recovery, reflecting a strong commitment to the recovery process.

• Personal experience with mental health treatment and recovery is also highly encouraged to assist members with co-occurring conditions.

• Strong understanding of recovery principles, techniques, and best practices, including motivational interviewing, stages of change, and recovery capital.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building trust and rapport with members.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and resourcefulness in navigating complex care systems.

• Proficiency in Google Office Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.).

• Capacity to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all member interactions.

• Required working hours are Monday–Friday from 12pm–8pm EST or the equivalent in the respective time zone.
