Substance Use Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.

📋 Description

• Lead group therapy sessions for clients.

• Acquire and apply evidence-based curriculum guides and training.

• Deliver comprehensive feedback and keep clinical progress notes on clients.

• Provide individual counseling to clients as required.

• Engage in community research and collaborate with public health partners on research and data collection initiatives.

• Develop and uphold treatment plans for every client served.

• Work in partnership with community organizations and providers on case management and care coordination.

• Uphold professional and ethical standards while maintaining appropriate counselor/client boundaries.

• Manage group dynamics and address problematic behaviors with sound professional judgment, ensuring the integrity of the group is preserved.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding licensing and billing.

• Attend and actively participate in regular training sessions, company meetings, monthly counselor consultations, and supervision as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in mental health, social work, psychology, addictions, or a related discipline.

• Maine License as LADC, CADC, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LCISW.

• 2-3 years of experience in substance use or a related field.

• Availability to work 2 evenings per week until 8:30 PM as required.

• A minimum of two years of experience leading group therapy in a SUD setting.

• High proficiency with technology, including EMR, telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), and mobile applications.

• Demonstrated compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and a vested interest in member success.
