Subject Matter Expert – Residential Electrician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Analyze common residential electrical problems

• Distinguish between urgent issues and those that can be addressed later

• Provide accurate estimates for materials, labor, and permits

• Offer guidance on repair timelines and available repair options

• Contribute to the creation of report templates and educational resources

• Engage directly with homeowners through Zoom

• Create brief instructional videos or avatar content

• Supply subject matter expertise to assist in developing homeowner tools

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a residential electrician

• Licensed electrician preferred, though proficiency can substitute for licensing

• Experience with panel upgrades, outdated wiring, lighting, circuits, and various residential electrical challenges

• Proficient in communicating with homeowners and articulating ideas clearly

• Capable of explaining technical concepts in layman's terms

• Familiarity with repair timelines and cost estimates, including parts, labor, and permits

• Comfortable using Zoom for video calls and recordings

• Experience in reviewing or drafting inspection-style reports is a plus

• Confident in providing clear assessments on the severity, fixability, or adequacy of issues

• Enthusiasm for developing tools that facilitate homeownership
