Study Startup Lead, Clinical Budget Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Set up and manage global, country-specific, and site-specific budgets along with the relevant payee information within ClinRun.

• Analyze and interpret CTAs, budgets, protocols, amendments, and payment terms, translating the requirements into precise budget configurations.

• Oversee an assigned workload, ensuring completion of budget configuration and maintenance tasks adhering to established quality and turnaround time standards.

• Offer daily guidance to Clinical Budget Specialists and assist in coordinating workloads, priorities, and deadlines within the team.

• Act as the primary point of escalation for intricate budget inquiries and configuration challenges.

• Conduct quality-control assessments to maintain consistent and accurate budget configurations across the team.

• Mentor and train team members, supporting the onboarding of new specialists.

• Collaborate with Payment Operations and other internal teams to address budget-related issues that may affect site payments.

• Identify recurring errors, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to minimize rework while enhancing quality.

• Assist in developing and sustaining clear, repeatable processes and work instructions.

• Discover opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate work, including the effective use of AI-enabled tools like Claude.

• Foster accountability, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement throughout the team.

• Drive and monitor team metrics for reporting purposes to Leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in clinical trial budgets, site payments, clinical operations, contracts, or a related field is preferred.

• Strong expertise in interpreting CTAs, site budgets, protocols, amendments, and payment terms.

• Comprehensive understanding of global, country, and site-level clinical trial budget frameworks.

• Proven ability to independently manage complex budget configuration tasks with high accuracy.

• Experience in mentoring, training, or providing daily guidance to others is preferred; formal people-management experience is not necessary.

• Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to balance individual contributions with team leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.

• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving processes.

• A curious mindset and readiness to challenge inefficient processes and seek improved methods of operation.

• Experience with or interest in utilizing AI-enabled tools such as Claude to enhance efficiency and quality is a plus.
