This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Foster a culture of shared technical ownership and collaborative decision-making.
• Promote the utilization of Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for key decisions.
• Ensure that decisions take into account trade-offs, risks, and established architectural norms.
• Empower engineers to take charge of technical design while offering guidance and constructive challenges.
• Advocate for engineering best practices across design, development, testing, security, observability, performance, and reliability.
• Maintain visibility and active management of technical debt and architectural risks.
• Engage directly in complex, high-stakes, or strategically significant projects.
• Take part in technical design and code evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineers on challenging issues and provide technical leadership during production incidents.
• Directly oversee, mentor, and nurture engineers' growth.
• Establish clear expectations regarding quality, ownership, and performance.
• Offer feedback and support for career advancement.
• Involve in hiring, onboarding, and performance assessments.
• Collaborate with Product teams to translate priorities into technically robust plans.
• Ensure that complex tasks undergo adequate technical exploration and design before development commences.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and complexities early in the process.
• Balance project delivery with considerations for technical debt, reliability, and the long-term health of the platform.
• Take ownership of the engineering execution and technical outcomes for the team.
• Over 7 years of experience in building and managing production SaaS applications.
• More than 5 years of experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with Angular and Single Page Application (SPA) development.
• Experience with containers and cloud-native application methodologies.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience operating within a DevOps framework, including accountability for deployment, observability, reliability, and production support.
• Strong grasp of software architecture, APIs, data modeling, performance, scalability, and security.
• Proven experience in leading technical decisions and fostering engineer development.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.
