This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver tailored academic advising to adult learners.
• Assist students in choosing suitable courses, developing and maintaining degree plans, and comprehending degree requirements.
• Employ coaching techniques and strategies to enhance student self-awareness and motivate action.
• Work collaboratively with students to define educational and career aspirations and formulate success roadmaps.
• Track student progress effectively.
• Offer guidance and resources to enhance study skills, time management, and organizational abilities.
• Address the work-life balance, time limitations, and financial issues faced by adult students through customized solutions and referrals.
• Support students in utilizing libraries, tutoring, wellness resources, and various other support services.
• Promote the exploration of career pathways and available resources.
• Identify students at risk, devise intervention strategies, and perform outreach to re-engage and retain adult learners.
• Analyze and interpret data to advocate for students and enhance overall student success.
• Prepare for, participate in, and contribute to meetings with internal teams and partner institutions.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information at all times.
• Comply with security policies regarding restricted student data.
• Report any security-related incidents.
• Ensure institutional data is accurate, appropriate, and timely.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in academic advising or related student support services for adult learners in an online higher education environment.
• Proven experience in coaching individuals, particularly in educational or supportive settings, to foster their academic and personal growth.
• Awareness of the unique challenges and needs faced by adult learners in higher education.
• Proficient in CRM, LMS, SIS platforms, and other technologies utilized in online higher education and student management.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with adult students.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with relevant academic policies and procedures.
• Understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
• Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment while ensuring confidentiality.
• Capacity to operate with agility and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Certification in Academic or Success Coaching or a related coaching discipline is preferred.
• Willingness to work standard business hours along with non-traditional evening and weekend hours.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
