This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Evaluate relevant building codes, standards, and local regulations pertinent to project sites.
• Produce CAD drawings and calculations under the guidance of Engineers.
• Formulate and execute design criteria and system designs from initial concept through to construction.
• Collaborate with Engineers to convert design concepts into detailed drawings and plans.
• Liaise with Engineer leads and managers regarding project status, timelines, and deadlines.
• Coordinate the layouts of distribution systems and equipment placements with team members.
• Examine shop drawing submissions and make site visits as necessary.
• Interpret Basis of Design documentation, perform field surveys, and conduct code research.
• Assess feedback from project managers to create high-quality deliverables for clients.
• Assist in the selection of equipment and fixtures.
• Address RFIs, submittals, and other tasks related to construction-phase services.
• Participate in weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly meetings.
• Aid in business development by connecting with potential new clients.
• Conduct peer reviews and edits on other projects as requested.
• An Associate’s degree in computer drafting and design or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, or a comparable mix of education and experience, at an MEP Engineering or A-E firm.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit software applications.
• Proficient in BlueBeam and Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Knowledge of STAAD, TEDDS, and RAM Structural System is preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Willingness to travel, including by air, car services, and overnight stays.
• Strong work ethic; capable of working both independently and as part of a team; highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Solid project management, strategic planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Able to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision.
• Capable of lifting at least 15–20 pounds.
• Able to hear for phone calls and communicate effectively in person.
