Senior Designer – Design Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop, scale, and document a design system for web, iOS, Android, and TV platforms.

• Create reusable components, patterns, and tokens.

• Collaborate with front-end engineers to deliver components within Storybook.

• Set guidelines for product teams to consistently enhance the system.

• Assess the product for design inconsistencies and lead resolutions across the entire suite.

• Produce living documentation, comprising how-to guides, do-and-don’t examples, and specifications.

• Take ownership of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility within the component library.

• Work together with brand and marketing teams to ensure alignment between product and brand.

• Utilize Figma Make to prototype and evaluate component functionality before handoff.

• Oversee design system versions and monitor changes on GitHub.

• Report directly to the VP of Design Systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years in product design, including at least 2 years focused on design systems.

• Proficient in Figma, including variables, components, and library setup.

• Practical experience with Figma Make for building and testing components.

• Familiarity with Storybook to document components and collaborate with engineers.

• Comfortable using GitHub for version control, pull requests, and system updates.

• Strong understanding of front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, and component frameworks.

• A portfolio that demonstrates systems thinking, craftsmanship, and clear documentation.

• Excellent writing and communication skills to guide teams and facilitate design reviews.

• Experience in video, streaming, or other media-related products.

• Knowledge of motion design as it relates to user interfaces.

• Background in an Agile, sprint-based team environment.

• Proficiency with TV and 10-foot user interfaces.
